Dillon Pioneer Arthur Connolly Dies After Illness
Arthur W. Connolly longtime Dillon hardware executive and past president of Dart Hardware died at Barrett hospital after a brief illness heart trouble. Born March 1 1852 in Milwaukee he moved to Dillon in 1886 and led Dart Hardware from 1909 until death with a Dillon Lodge A F & A M connection. He leaves two sisters in Detroit and brother J J Connolly of St Paul. Funeral Tuesday in Masonic hall with Rev H N Tragus at Mountain View cemetery beside his late wife.

Tourist in Jail After Montana Street Crash
A tourist from Idaho Falls, Jesus Bellerillo, rammed a police car on Montana Street while trying to pass on the right. He pled guilty to driving while intoxicated, fined 25 dollars plus 30 dollars damages, and a bottle of hootch was found in his Hupmobile. Chief Nelson and Officer Gordon recovered the driver at the scene. Emerson Hughes and Mr. Hughes of Horse Prairie visit the city.

New Streamline Train to Be Seen in Dillon Soon
Dillon residents will view the Union Pacific streamline train when it arrives at 7 22 p m April 4 and departs for Butte, returning to Dillon at 6 080 p m April 5 according to local agent H H Baumberger. The train resembles a large airplane fuselage with a gleaming finish.

The final games of the season at Pocatello ended in defeats for the Bulldogs. On Friday the Panthers beat the Bulldogs 55 to 33 as Idaho led 8-7 and 13-12 at times. Rouse led with 10 points before fouling out. McGinley and Dyche also fouled out. Saturday Idaho won 34-24 with McGinley scoring eight for the Bulldogs.

Car theft foiled by a blind street in Diljon
A Ford coupe owned by William Bergeson was pushed along Pacific Street before thieves started the engine. Miss Lois Crichton alerted the owner who grabbed one thief on the running board. The pair fled into a blind stockyard street abandoning the car after a leather jacket and camera were taken. Sheriff's office contacted with no suspects found. One thief wore a horsehide coat.

Patrick Desmond prominent Horse Prairie ranchman died of a heart attack at his daughter Mrs Barretts Thomson avenue home after a day of visiting friends. He was born in Cork Ireland on March 17 1862 came to America at 19 and rose to river steamboat captain before moving to Montana in 1880 and Horse Prairie in 1883. Survived by daughter Mrs Chester Barrett and two grandchildren Desmond and Jim Barrett. funeral at St Rose Catholic Church with requiem high mass and interment at Mountain View Cemetery.

Beaverhead Chapter D A R celebrates its seventeenth birthday on March 18 at Mrs. Frank A Hazelbaker home. Organized March 10, 1917 with nineteen members now totaling twenty eight including twenty two resident and six non resident members. Over seventeen years there have been fifty four members with two deaths and others by transfer or resignation. Montana has thirteen chapters and 694 members while the national society includes 2470 chapters and 153636 members. All states have chapters and the District of Columbia has four. There are chapters in Alaska Canal Zone Cuba Hawaiian Islands Philippine Islands Porto Rico China England France and Italy.

Women Held on Assault Charge Apply for Counsel
Alice Barnes and Louise Rhoades were arraigned in Judge Lyman H. Bennett's court on a first degree assault charge and asked the court to appoint attorneys. The case was taken under advisement and the two remain held at the county jail pending a decision.
