Byron Hand Found Dead in Big Hole River
The body of Byron Hand 25 son of Mr and Mrs Horace Hand of Browne s station was found in a driftwood clump in the Big Hole River by two Reichle youths last Sunday noon about seven miles south of the Hand ranch. The body was recovered by Sheriff Orr Undersheriff Hartwig and Coroner Phillips and identified by clothing and dental work. He likely fell into the river the morning he disappeared and drowned due to the cold. He is survived by his parents two brothers John Reichle and Roscoe Butte and three sisters Nettie Missoula Susan and Thelma Reichle. Funeral was held Monday from the family home with burial at Melrose Cemetery.

J. C. O Connor and Elza Patrick of Dillon win the Helena bid for a 7.851 mile highway across Beaverhead Madison and Silver Bow counties. The $49 171.99 contract covers grading drainage and grave surfacing. Construction follows the Oregon Short Line route crossing the Big Hole River at Lavon. Work has begun with equipment moved from Roberts Idaho and is expected to finish by late September.

Judson Brundage was loading a freight elevator at the Montana Mercantile warehouse when a platform collapse caused a 1000 pound load to drop to the basement. A loosened set screw on the pulley caused the accident, leaving him with a badly gashed hand and facial and body cuts.

Mother Dies at 105 in Michigan Home
