Kent Dohy Wins Grandstand Contract at Fairgrounds
Kent Dohy submitted a bid of 5 099 dollars and was awarded the contract for the new wooden grandstand at the fairgrounds with a Sept 1 completion deadline. Other bids ranged up to 8 820 dollars. Former Dillon Pioneer L. R. Grannis Dies at 86
L R Grannis longtime Dillon resident and businessman died at The Pines near Wise River after a full life that began in Niles Michigan. He crossed the plains in 1864 and lived in Washoe Valley Nevada before settling in Montana towns including Butte, Deer Lodge, Anaconda and Dillon. Survived by wife Anna and children George Leon and Clark Combs among others, his funeral was held at 2 PM Friday with interment in Dewey cemetery.
