Claude B Hodges 32 died from a Plymouth crash near Lima after skidding on a wet highway while driving to Spencer Idaho He suffered a broken back and internal injuries The incident occurred around 4 pm and a hitchhiker escaped unharmed Hodges wife and North Carolina relatives survived Funeral was held at the Baptist church in Dillon.

Merchants Open New Stores in Dillon Faithful Local Watch

Forty Candidates Seek Nomination in Primaries
The fortieth filing for nomination in the July primaries was made Tuesday afternoon when B N Stevenson announced his candidacy on the Republican ticket for county clerk and recorder. His petition started the first contest on the Republican side for that office, with Albert Baker, the present incumbent, having filed previously. Stevenson is a Dillon businessman with broad recognition and joined the Republican slate for sheriff as well. Tash, a former C C Cornell ranch employee, runs a ranch near Reichle and is well qualified for sheriff. this filing marks the eighth on the Republican ticket for sheriff, a heated race alongside the two Democratic candidates.
