The first wool load arrived in the city last week for storage at the First National Bank wool warehouse, with the season expected to be in full swing by mid month. Growers say the quality is good and yields resemble previous years, though damp weather delays work and lengthens the season. Much of the wool-washing and shearing will be done by increasingly used machinery this year.

U S forest service at Missoula and Montana supervisors warn that last year careless fishermen and campers caused a fire bill near $30,000 and damaged scenic spots. Vigilante Volunteers, over 3,000 strong, patrol forests to enforce fire laws. Fishermen are urged to build fires in safe spots and extinguish them with dirt and water. George W Best of Argenta Dies After Lingering Illness
George W Best 76 longtime Argenta resident died at his home above the old mining camp after a lingering illness. His widow learned of the death late Tuesday afternoon. Survived by Mrs Best and two sons Harold and Richard. Funeral plans not yet made. Miss Luella Stickney and Dr G L Routledge inoculated 26 Armstead children against diphtheria with more shots planned for scarlet fever later.
