The Dillon Little Symphony orchestra and college glee club delivered a widely praised broadcast last Saturday night. Melvin Smith aged 20 months son of Mr and Mrs Lee Smith narrowly escaped drowning after falling into an irrigation ditch near his east side home Monday neighbor Kid Knox quickly rescued him. He was unconscious on discovery but responded to first aid and escaped with little harm.

Undersheriff Carl Hartwig has tendered his resignation after years of service under Sheriff W. C. Orr. Local residents provided transportation for swimming and sports, with a picnic lunch. Memorial Day in Dillon was marked by simple decoration services at Mountain View cemetery by the Beaverhead post of the American Legion and auxiliary.
