Prominent Dillon Resident Dies of Heart Attack
Charles H. Phillips, longtime Dillon business leader, died at his apartment above Dillon Implement Company after a heart attack about 9 am Tuesday. Born March 28 1851 in Elizabeth Illinois, he earlier ran hotels in Warren and St. Paul before managing Dillon Implement after his brother William’s death. Survived by two nieces, a grandson Phillip Bond, and adopted daughter Mrs Herbert Baird of Oregon. wife Lavina Richardson preceded him. Body shipped to Warren Illinois for interment beside his wife.

Eighth Grade Tests Compare Dillon Students With National Benchmarks
The Dillon eighth graders achieved a median score of 162 on a nationwide test taken by 23 000 students in 35 states. Half of the nationals scored 185 or more, while Dillon's score was 27 points above the national median. Three quarters of Dillon pupils scored above 139, four points above the national median.

Liquor and Still Seized in Barn Raid on Dunn Property
Five officers conducted a raid in the city on Friday discovering a cache of 290 gallons of liquor and a still in a barn on the Tom Dunn property at Vine Street and Barnett Avenue. The barn was destroyed by the officers. no arrests were made and the owner was absolved of complicity.

Former City Resident Alice Cox Gertich Dies in Pocatello
Former City resident Mrs Alice Cox Gertich died Tuesday after a lingering illness at her Pocatello home. She attended local schools for years and was well known here. The body was brought to Dillon Friday with funeral Saturday at Brundage Chapel conducted by Mr Casper of the Church of Latter Day Saints. Interment followed at Mountain View cemetery.
Kidnaper Sought In This Vicinity In Montana
G men and Silver Bow sheriff's force searched Dillon Monday night for William Mahan a suspect in the Weyerhaeuser kidnapping case. Mahan a former state prisoner was seen in town and was believed to have passed through Dillon on his way south. A hotel lobby incident with H E Andrus and a railroad ticket purchase for Ogden were noted but no identification or arrests followed.

Summer term starts at Montana State Normal college
The Montana State Normal College opened summer quarter with 241 women and 59 men registered, down slightly from last summer, as President S E Davis announced. Registration Monday preceded classes Tuesday, with 50 of 56 counties represented in resident students and many graduates from Silver Bow Cascade Roosevelt Gallatin Beaverhead and Sheridan counties. The training school will host Dillon children for six weeks blending study and play with morning classes and an afternoon playground and swimming program open to all students.
