Dr George Finlay Simmons addressed 45 Beaverhead County High School graduates urging them to chart a course, face life’s challenges, and become good citizens. Co valedictorian William Tower received the alumnus cup. Jo Ann Fuller and Tower won four year scholarships to the Greater University of Montana. Diplomas were presented by R M Barrett as the roster of graduates, including James Albertson Roy Ames Wanda Atkeson Joe Bacon Thelma Banning and many others, was announced. Music by a local orchestra and a girls triple trio accompanied the ceremony.

Pioneer Twin Bridges resident Alfred Gray dies at ranch
Alfred Gray 71 longtime Twin Bridges resident died at his ranch home Monday evening. Born 1868 in Davenport Iowa he came to Montana in 1889. Survived by two daughters Jessie Routledge Dillon and Myrtle Ohlrick Twin Bridges. two sons Ross Seattle and Fred Twin Bridges. two grandchildren Marilyn Routledge and Burton Ohlrick. sister Ida Gray Thompson Falls. brother Burt Gray Thompson Falls. another brother in Iowa and nephew Claude Dale Twin Bridges. Funeral Thursday at 2 in the Twin Bridges Masonic Hall conducted by Twin Bridges Masonic Lodge.

Former Dillon Woman's Ashes Interred Here
Grave side services for Mrs. Margaret McAllister formerly of Dillon were conducted by Rev. J A Meeke. Her ashes were interred at Mountain View cemetery. Memorials were held May 8 at Merkley Mortuary Los Angeles with the Corinthian chapter Order of the Eastern Star officiating. She was 66, born August 9 1872 in Wellsville Utah and had resided in Dillon for years.

Beaverhead county high school graduates attending Montana State College at Bozeman won several honors at the Little International Livestock Show held with the Montana Stockgrowers state convention in Livingston. Charles Green won first in the fat steer class. Floyd Pahnish took first in the Percheron horse division. Don Shaffner, Arthur Christiansen, and Charles Green earned second places in the Hamp shire Ram, Percheron drafter, and Hereford Heifers classes respectively.

A M Jones assistant cashier of the First National bank at Dillon was elected secretary of group six of the Montana Bankers association which met Thursday at Whitehall. About 50 bankers and their wives from Beaverhead Silver Bow Jefferson Madison and Powell counties attended.

Graduation Week at State Normal College Culminates in 42nd Exercises
Montana State Normal College holds its forty second annual commencement next Wednesday morning June 7. Activities begin Friday with the Junior Promenade in the gym. Baccalaureate Service Sunday at 11 in the auditorium features President Sheldon B. Davis and the address What Do You Make of It. A college play You Cant Take It With You runs Monday night with Miss Myrtle Savidge directing a large cast. Tuesday hosts the training school commencement art exhibit reception college sing and candle light procession and final dance. Dillon lodge No. 16 A F and A M held a season ending night at the Masonic hall Saturday with strong attendance. A banquet led by Thomas W. Jones preceded the past masters in Master Mason degree work while Matt Kay chaired and A A Schroeder led the participants. On Friday fifteen Dillon chapter R A M members attended Deer Lodge chapter in Butte to assist with the work.

Dillon Women Called to Iowa for Death in Burlington
Mrs Charlotte Ballard Miss Elizabeth and Miss Jean Ballard traveled to Burlington Iowa after the death of Mrs Hugh Bulger at age 90. Mrs Bulger died Tuesday morning after a short illness at her Burlington home. She leaves a son Frank Bulger of Dillon and four daughters Helen Ballard Charlotte Ballard May and Alice Bulger of Burlington plus several grandchildren.
