The Beav erhead county April term ends after four weeks with a night session in Bergeson Motors versus D F Mooney where Judge Henry G Rodgers sat without a jury. A Shaffner et al versus Hdgar Ferris verdict awarded 396 30 for pasturing livestock. Four criminal cases yielded three convictions and one dismissal. J E Hughes versus Ermont Mines awarded 2266 14 for sheep deaths after alleged stream contamination.

Walter M. Clapp renowned Big Hole rancher died at Barrett hospital after two years of ill health. Funeral services were held Monday at Wisdom Lodge No. 61 Masons hall with interment at Wisdom cemetery. Born September 24, 1875 in Indiana, he lived in the Big Hole basin since 1902. Survived by wife Joanna, daughter and son-in-law Jack and Mrs. Anderson of Fishtrap, two grandchildren, sisters, and brothers-in-law including Sidney Norbury of Prescott and Frank Denny of Karisaa City, plus Mrs. Laura Rogers of Butler and other relatives.

Second Twilight Shoot At Dillon Gun Club
The Dillon Gun Club hosts the second weekly twilight shoot on Wednesday with future Sunday events to maintain form for the state shoot in Butte July 7 to 9. The Dillon team and Missoula expect to clash for the Montana Standard telegraphic championship after a tied six week series. A registered shoot is planned for June 25 by the Dillon Gun Club.

In an opinion for the state Board of Equalization Attorney General H J Freebourn ruled county commissioners may include estimated tax delinquencies and levy taxes accordingly in next year’s budgets. The Rural Electrification Administration has allotted $5,000 to Jefferson Valley Rural Electric Cooperative to fund member wiring and plumbing installations. Notes may cover up to 80 percent of costs and must be repaid within five years with at least two payments annually.
