William C Orr III 25 prominent Dillon resident died after a car left the highway four miles north of Dillon. Edith Orr cousin Captain Benedict of the Wise River CCC camp and Rollin Thibodeau escaped with minor injuries as the Plymouth sedan rolled over multiple times. Ruth Orr Kelly rushed others to Barrett Hospital where Orr died. Funeral services were held at the Masonic hall with broad community attendance.

Samuel A. Banning Dies After Long Illness
Samuel A. Banning, noted long time ranchman in the Rattlesnake area, died at his home west of the city Tuesday morning after a lengthy illness. Born December 25, 1848 in Wheeling West Virginia, he later mined in Golden Colorado and married Lucy Simmons on February 22 1885. The couple moved to Hecla and then Argenta before he settled on a ranch with his sons about 35 years ago. Surviving are his widow four sons Robert in Mulvane Kansas Forrest in Kaukauna Wisconsin Vilas and Daered in this city and a daughter Mrs Robert Booner of Boise. The funeral will be Friday at 2 30 p m from the funeral home.

Horse Market Revived in Dillon Large Purchase
Ogden buyers A H Langman and Andrew Bingham bought 435 head of horses in Dillon, the largest single local purchase since Dil lon era. 385 head came from Poindexter Orr ranch and the rest from George Larson ranch. Horses were loaded for shipment to Ogden and other regions. Bingham noted steady market improvement since year start with continued demand through summer as farmers favor horses over tractors for various tasks.

Hay Field Runaway Accidents Injure Several Men
Over the past week in the county hay fields several workers suffered injuries from runaways. Bert Lewis of the Harry Davis ranch near Jackson was treated for cuts after being trampled by his team. A Medicine Lodge worker broke an arm in a runaway. Fred H. Kohl of the Hazelbaker ranch was taken to Butte for a broken pelvis. Eli Diolle needed knee surgery for a deep cut from a fallen sickle bar. Dan Lybbert and Itherner Jay, also from Hazelbaker, left Barrett hospital after leg and hip injuries from haying accidents.
