Beaverhead county plans a 61 681.57 bond issue to refund warrants and bonded debt with accrued interest as of July 1 1933. Bonds mature in ten years with a three year option, aiming to save interest. last bond was 1913 for 30 000. Interest capped at 6 percent, serial denominations start at 600, final note 181 67.

Seattle Man Elected Grand Exalted Ruler of Elks
Walter F. Meier of Seattle was unanimously elected grand exalted ruler of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks by the national convention in Milwaukee. Kansas City was chosen for the 1934 convention. Exalted Ruler E W Johnson and Leonard Innes attended from Dillon Lodge along with Mrs Innes. The grand exalted ruler will visit Dillon on the first day of the state convention opening August 10.

Court dismisses two robbery cases and nuisance complaint
For lack of prosecuting witnesses two justice court cases were dismissed Tuesday afternoon. Patri cia Jackson and Harry Galbraith were charged with robbery and released. Gus Wangel faced a nuisance complaint at Dell and was released. Judge George Opp presided the robbery case. Judge Louis Stahl handled the nuisance matter.

Wool price reaches peak as large wool clips sold at auction
At the First National bank warehouse, about 50 000 pounds of wool were auctioned off under sealed bids. Draper and Co of Boston bought the lot for 26 58 cents per pound, with Jimmy Goodbeing the buyer. A second lot of roughly 20 000 pounds sold for 23 cents to Dewey Gould of Boston, represented by A S Johnson.

State public health meeting draws nurses from Anaconda

Fires Sparked by Smokers in Beaverhead Forest Areas
Supervisor A. A. Simpson reports two recent forest fires in Beaverhead with one in the upper Big Hole area controlled quickly and another in Trail Creek area for which no further details are yet received. About 140 Beaverhead and Madison county youths are working on forest projects, with 100 from Beaverhead. In Ruby camp crews finished miles of road on Warm Springs Creek and Cottonwood projects and a mile on Centennial divide. Mill Creek road project is ready for grader. Larkspur cleanup covers ~300 acres. Wise River road work progresses with completion anticipated soon.

The county assessor reports total assessed value fell by over 2.3 million dollars from 1982 to this year. Real estate values dropped from 2,081,977 to 1,668,851, while livestock values rose to 1,790,830. Livestock numbers declined from 285,078 head to 255,852. Horace Hand of Reichle visited town, noting a successful medical correction in Soap Lake that ended years of cane use for rheumatism.

Dillon music lovers enjoyed the Wright Fuson recital at Normal college auditorium on Wednesday evening. Wright and Tom Fuson are renowned performers with an extensive repertoire of two part songs from Schubert to Dvorak.
