Columbus July 16 The prohibitionists name Eugene W. Chafin of Chicago for president and Aaron S. Watkins of Ada Ohio for vice president both unanimously chosen. Both run for governor of their states on the prohibition ticket. The forenoon session adopted a brief platform likely the shortest on record at about 350 words.
In South Omaha on July 15, cattle demand remained liberal with declines of 10 to 25 cents across classes. Top corn fed steers brought 7 to 8 dollars with choicer lots near 8, while cows and stockers softened. western cattle showed stronger demand.
