A Horse Prairie suit consumed most of Monday in Justice of the Peace Rich's court over 2000 cut poles. Horace McIntyre and wife claimed ownership of the poles after a contract with W. J. Propper to build a fence. The poles had been attached for a debt by G. T. Paul and sold to Pat Conners for 18 dollars. The jury ruled in favor of McIntyre and wife after witnesses for both sides and closing arguments.

Washouts and cloudbursts halt trains near Melrose
A major washout two miles past Melrose wrecked 35 feet of embankment and washed away a cement culvert halting passenger train No. 8 for about twelve hours.
