Wrestling Fights Draw Crowds In Drizzly Dillon Event

In Dillon the wrestling contests followed drilling with a 16 by 16 foot platform near the band stand. Northwest wrestlers John H. McIntosh and Tony Harris fought as spectators braved rain. Harris won the first fall, McIntosh the second and third. Tim Harrington and Jack Collins then showcased catch as catch can wrestling. A pow-wow and war dance by Lemhi Indians entertained before a fireworks finale and a late ball at Dart's hall.

Best Town in the State Praised by Butte Wrestler

John H McIntosh the Butte wrestling editor says Dillon is the liveliest town in Montana and contrasts its green lawns and business boom with Butte Smoky City. He credits Dillon’s Fourth of July funds and local enterprise and notes he defeated Tony Harris here Monday and beat Adams of Butte two years ago.

Charles Wells Injured in Dillon Fourth of July Parade

Charles Wells, known for city sprinkling, was badly hurt when the Fair Store float derailed during the Dillon parade. He fell, broke both bones in his left leg, and doctors say a compound comminuted fracture may require amputation.
