Madison ranch man Mose Smyth dies after snow drift救
Mose Smyth a leading Blaine sheep operator died last Sunday after a heart attack while extricating his stalled truck near his Madison county ranch. He overexerted himself after securing a team to pull the vehicle free, and the fatal stroke occurred as he walked around the truck. Funeral held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Masonic hall with burial in Mountain View cemetery. Survived by widow, son Hugh, step children Farnum Mayo, Matt Telin, Alden Telin, sister Mrs. Tillie McFarland, brother Henry Smyth and another brother Hugh Smyth.

Mary J Donovan Dies in Melrose at 108
Mrs. Mary J. Donovan, believed Montana’s oldest resident, died at her Melrose home. Aged about 108, she had lived in Montana since 1863 and witnessed the Aldergulch hangings of the road agents. Her long life included a noted, colorful career and she remained in good health until recently.

He signed requisition papers for a Fergus County man wanted in Washington state for writing bad checks and planned to proceed to Helena for further duties. Beaverhead County farmers and high school agricultural students attended Power Farming Day at the Hartwig Theatre sponsored by Paddock and Tyre. Despite poor roads, the afternoon program drew a full audience for motion pictures slides and lectures by representatives of International Harvester, C W Finkle of Chicago and Henry Weber of Billings. Beaverhead Mining Association Formed at Argenta Meeting
A Friday evening gathering at the courthouse created the Beaverhead Mining Association the county’s first minerals group since pioneer days. About 30 attendees, led by Argenta representatives, adopted a constitution and by laws and elected George H. French president Pearl S. Smith vice president and Roy Herndon secretary with a board of directors to guide future development in Beaverhead County.
