A prank involving a dummy amused hall residents last Saturday. Rev. Mr. Luce visited Normal Wednesday and spoke on Why are we Here with a message about giving. Water pipes are being laid to connect the Normal and hall with city supply. A birthday and farewell spread for the “last of the Buttes” occurred Tuesday at 9 o’clock in the old Butte room, with guests including Misses Streete and Breslin, Coleman, Haines, Hurley, Carter, Hamilton, Preston, Kelly, Davidson, Schroeder and Howard.

The First National Bank of Dillon, chartered January 16, 1884, has won a renewed 20-year charter after satisfactory examination. Its 19-year growth includes deposits over 10 million, drafts totaling over 60 million, and over 40 million paid in cash. The bank has never missed a dividend and built Dillon’s first brick building.
