Graduation reception at Prof Pasmore home
Miss Elisabeth Haw ley hosted a supper for graduates and select friends after the program at Prof and Mrs Pasmore's home. Pink and green colors adorned the table with carnation place cards and fern and carnation centerpieces. Sherbet and angel food in pink and green were served as music and dancing preceded lunch.

Life of Richard A Reynolds Pioneer of Montana
This sketch from Progressive Men of Montana recounts Richard A Reynolds a Civil War veteran and early Beaverhead County pioneer. Born May 13 1842 in Wales he joined the Thirtieth Wisconsin Infantry served against Indian uprisings, then moved to Montana in 1866 where he built a ranch near Blacktail Deer Creek and helped pioneer the state’s sheep industry. He faced early crop failures and shifted to mining before introducing 1400 head of range sheep with John Bishop in Oregon and Montana. Reynolds earned loyalty and respect from Beaverhead residents through a lifetime of frontier service and development efforts.

Beaverhead rancher and stockman profiles in early Beaverhead era
Reynolds controls 2780 acres in Beaverhead county with sheep, horses and Shorthorn cattle. He owns a modern ranch with a fine residence and is a leading local stockman. A Republican, he served as county commissioner and local official. First marriage in 1871 to Jennie Johnson. Jennie died in 1884. He remarried in 1887 to Della Thompson, born in Wisconsin.

Stanchfield Dies in La Porte Indiana at 56
W A Stanchfield died in La Porte Indiana on January 20 after months of stomach trouble. He leaves a widow and two young sons, plus his father W B Stanchfield. The family will stay with relatives in La Porte while Mrs Stanchfield and the children remain there for the time. Funeral and burial occurred in La Porte on January 28.

World’s Fair Voting Contest Opens Next Week

The Epworth League held its first open church social in the M E church lecture room Tuesday. A large crowd enjoyed an innovative evening with social games refreshments and a varied program led by Miss Faye Scott Miss Fern Scott Mrs A L Anderson Miss Emma Burfield Millie Haines and Rev Luce. A short religious service closed the event.

Royal Neighbors Install Officers in Surprise Ceremony
Last evening the Royal Neighbors installed their newly elected officers. Mrs. A Kuntze was named Oracle with Mrs. F P Birrer as Vice Oracle and Mrs. A R Elliott Recorder. Other posts included Mrs. Geo Kunzman Chancellor and several managers and sentinels. The hall featured purple and white colors and a large rose emblem.

Fire Doused Before Spread From Fences Near Coon Home
A rear fence fire near A B Coon’s Railroad avenue residence was stamped out by prompt action led by Frank Holcomb and others. B B Jacobe’s daughter alerted Mrs Coon, a revolver barrel emptied by her failed to elicit help, and the blaze was stopped from reaching outbuildings as a strong wind blew. Only a few fence panels burned.
