Fires At Helena Residence And Bitter Creek
A three story frame residence near Montana Wesleyan University in Helena caught fire Saturday morning. Occupants including Chancellor Iliff President Scovy and about twenty students escaped. some saved belongings. A body found west of Missoula Gulch in Butte is badly battered and unknown. motive unclear. Sheridan saloon owned by John Dumas burned Friday. citizens saved much of the city from total destruction. Cause of both fires unknown.
