Former rector Bob Jensen of Dillon served as Y M C A man for the 37th Spruce Production Squadron. He organized a camp library, built a private hut for events, lent money and goods, coached hospital relief during flu, aided flood victims, ran the saw mill, and helped a dying man’s widow and new wife with a home. He was promoted to state industrial secretary for Washington.

Hunting lodge proprietor fined for game law violation
Otto Prather, proprietor of a Centennial valley hunting lodge, was fined $27.60 in Justice Phillips' court. Evidence showed a fish net signed to the defendant was found at Monida in violation of state game and fish laws.

Mrs. Flynn Injured When Struck By Auto in Snow Squall
Last Wednesday night a snow squall impaired sight as Mrs. Thomas Flynn driving toward town was hit by George Stimpson’s car near the Reynolds ranch. She suffered cuts to the nose and an eye and a damaged horse. she was placed in a car by Herb Wheat, taken to Mrs Heavy’s, and a doctor was summoned. She remained resting comfortably with no serious injuries reported.

Fighorn Funeral Held at Home in Melrose
The funeral of George Eighorn, who died in a Butte hospital, was held yesterday at Melrose. A native of Germany, he came to the United States in 1881 and later settled in Montana, where he lived 18 years. He is survived by his widow, four daughters and two sons. Thursday's Butte Miner.

Mrs Roy Jackson Dies After Illness at Curtis Hospital
Mrs. Fanny Esther Woody Jackson died Tuesday morning at Curtis hospital after a three week battle with peritonitis. She fought for life, underwent an operation, and died as the illness progressed. Funeral services were held at Brundage's chapel with Rev. H. G. Humphrey, and interment followed at Mountain View cemetery. She was born April 11, 1891 in Green Cove Virginia and moved to Montana as a girl. She and Roy Jackson married March 21, 1911 and lived in Jackson, Dillon, and other parts before settling in Dillon. She leaves husband Roy Jackson Jr. and daughter Helen, plus her parents and siblings.

Franklin Ripley Dies After Long Illness
Franklin Ripley died at the Metlen hotel early Thursday Feb. 27 after months of ill health and a California visit. Funeral services are set for Lima on Saturday March 1 at 2 p.m. conducted by Rev. H. G. Humphrey. He was born August 9, 1880 in Basin, Montana and is survived by his mother Mrs. Mary E. Ripley of Ravalli and brothers George of Lima and Edwards of Ravalli, plus sister Mrs. Catherine Walcott of Lima.
