Former Dillon Girl Killed in Automobile Accident
Through the courtesy of Mrs. Hubert L. Smith the Messenger reports the death on January 31 in Los Angeles of Miss Ida Browning daughter of Mrs Annie Elizabeth Browning. The Browning family lived near Dillon for years on a dry land ranch and have many friends here. The father Bert Browning was killed in an airplane crash two years ago.

Couple Observe Golden Wedding in Dillon
The community celebrated the golden wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. O. M. Best last Tuesday. More than fifty attended a dinner at the Country Inn where the couple renewed friendships, heard talks, and read telegrams. A gold fish aquarium filled with gold pieces was presented to the couple, who recalled their 50 years of marriage dating to Climax, Michigan.

Legion Show Cast Starts Rehearsals for Minstrel Production

Beaverhead seniors win Quill and Scroll journalism awards
Georgiana Crouse and Albert Polish of Beaverhead County High School won Quill and Scroll International Group contest honors. Polish placed eighth nationally in current news knowledge and Crouse earned fourth in the Mountain-state district headline writing contest. City drivers avoid injuries after Bannack Idaho collision

Death Claims John B. McLaren a Longtime Dillon Resident
John B. McLaren died at Barrett hospital after a short illness and sinus complication. A native of New Brunswick, he moved to Dillon in 1901 and became a noted blacksmith who built a notable shop. Funeral services were held at the Baptist church with Rev. R. C. Shannan officiating and burial at Mountain View cemetery. He is survived by his widow, a son in Dillon, two other sons, and a daughter in Idaho.
