Armstead Matron Julia McMenomey Dies After Illness

Mrs. Julia M McMenomey longtime Armstead resident dies at 5 30 p m at her ranch near Armstead after a lingering illness She was the wife of Martin McMenomey a ranchman from Ryan Canyon district born in Ireland 81 years ago She came to the United States as a young woman and to Montana 44 years ago Surviving are her husband three sons Martin Jr of Los Angeles Patrick and Bert of Armstead and four daughters Mrs Dan T Malley Mrs Sutia Song of San Francisco Mrs Ferro Marchesseau of Grant and Mrs D F McCarthy of Butte Funeral services were held Wednesday at St Rose Catholic Church with Rev Father Clifford of Lima celebrating Requiem High Mass and burial at Mountain View cemetery.

Father of Mrs Frank Paul Dies in Butte

P. Sullivan, a well known figure in Butte civic life and former Silverbow county assessor for two terms, died Wednesday at his home after a long illness. He was a California native and survived by his widow, three daughters including Mrs. Frank Paul, and two sons.

Williams Sentenced to Twenty Years Hard Labor

George Williams pleaded guilty to burglary of the Eliel store in the city. After a Jan 1 theft and a later Butte arrest that recovered most stolen items, Judge Rodgers sentenced him Wednesday to twenty years in prison at hard labor. Deputies moved him to Deer Lodge to begin term.

John Fogarty to Broadcast Songs From WEAF New York

Dillom friends of John Fogarty and army buddies of George R. Baker and D. W. Paddock will be pleased to learn he will broadcast another series of programs from Station WEAF New York. The first program is scheduled for today with subsequent shows on February 17 from 2:30 to 3 p m and February 22 from 12:30 to 1 p m Dillon time.
