Andy Nelson died this morning from head injuries sustained Wednesday after falling from a wagon on Montana street in Dillon. He had been drinking that afternoon and was later found with a bruised head and paralysis, taken to the Fro man lodging house, then died at 7:30 AM. Nelson was a longtime Big Hole basin resident with a 17 year old son and worked recently for W. C. Brown. Undertaker Brundage handled his remains. internment arrangements to be set once his son and Gus Winger arrive.
Miss Christina C Morrison a student at the Normal school died at 4 30 yesterday after an operation for appendicitis. She was about eighteen. Her parents Mr and Mrs D A Morrison of Whitehall were with her. A service was held at the dormitory and the remains shipped home. The death came after a week long illness and the dormitory community mourns her loss. Delegates visiting Dillon from the state institutions praised the school and its needs for funding.
The district court opened with Judge M. A. Parker presiding over four criminal cases and many civil matters. The grand larceny case against Louis Gerland was set for jury trial May 19, 1903, at 10 a.m., and the assault case against Robert Tripletts was set for May 19, 1908, at 1:30 p.m. Other items included water rights disputes, demurrers, and several divorces granted after evidence.
