D F and Ethel Wampler hosted a swap party at their Wisdom home on February 7 to celebrate Miss Ethel Wampler s twenty first birthday. Guests included Dr and Mrs Towers Judge Staley and wife Emmet Staley and wife and others. After a thirty minute exchange the evening featured conundrums singing and recitations with refreshments then couples departed with best wishes for the year ahead. Death of Ernest E. Martin Probed by Community Grief
Ernest E. Martin, adopted son of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Lusher, died this afternoon at 2 40 from intestinal gangrene after a three day illness. He was 20 years old, born in Early Town, and had worked as a clerk at the Fair store for ten years. His loss saddens the Lushers and their customers alike. funeral planned for Sunday or midday.

Moore Sentenced Five Years In State Penitentiary
Chief Stone attended a Montana meeting on a bill to photograph and measure prisoners after thirty days in jail. Teddy Moore, a colored man from Dillon, pled guilty to criminal assault on Blanche Rivera a 14 year old mulatto girl and received the minimum five year term. Moore and Rivera were arrested January 7 in Dillon and Moore was brought back for trial after being held in the county jail.

Pleasant Evening At Dr Swain House Among Students
A group of students spent a joyful evening at Dr Swain’s home last Friday with a card game focused on spelling. Miss Morrison is ill with appendicitis and her father is visiting to help as a nurse arrives from Butte. Mia Hopp has returned to school and classmates cheer her recovery while clubs seem absent and study dominates the scene.
Dillon City approves $65,000 water works bond
Voters approved $65,000 in bonds to build a gravity water system from Rattlesnake Creek, about twelve miles away near Argenta. turnout was light with 64 for and 4 against, first ward 38 3, second ward 17, third ward 9 with 1 against. Contractors to be chosen, plans by Kelsey and Metlen, aim to let contracts by April 1 and have possible fire protection by next fall or winter.

Unfortunate woman’s body shipped. undertaker defrauded
A woman died in the city and her father asked Undertaker Brandage to ship the body to Salt Lake City. Brandage hired Alva Knox to accompany the remains and collect payment. Knox allegedly kept nearly $200, was arrested in Salt Lake City, and faces prosecution. Knox had lived in Dillon and frequented local Island resorts, tied to the deceased woman.

Death of Mrs Cusick A Dillon Area Tragedy
Mrs. Nettie Miller Cusick wife of John J. Cusick died in Sisters Hospital Butte at 10 p m Sunday after blood poisoning following an operation. She was born May 4 1868 in Petaluma California and lived in Dillon since childhood. She leaves her husband three children and many relatives. Funeral last Tuesday at St James church in Dillon with burial in Mountain View cemetery. Her life reflected charity and devotion to others.
