Barrett Hospital Silver Tea Raises Funds in Dillon

The Valentine Silver Tea at St James guild hall supported Barrett hospital. Sponsored by Dillon church women, it raised 30 dollars for sectional bookcases. An entertainment program featured the Choral club, Kampus Kadets, dances, a wedding gown parade, and performances by local students.

The Normal Bulldogs defeated Eastern Montana Normal 40 to 15 at Billings Monday night. Regulars played late in the second half and helped widen the margin with multiple scorers contributing.

Jackson Matron Ida Peterson Dies After Brief Illness

Ida Peterson of Jackson, born January 18 1874 in Sweden, died after a short illness. She lived on a ranch in the Big Hole basin for 35 years and leaves her husband Sam Peterson and seven children including Mrs Dysart Gowen, Alfred, Elvin, Melvin, Ralph, Kenneth, and Robert. four brothers John Nelson of Jackson Joel Nelson and August Nelson of Nebraska and another in Sweden. daughter Mildred preceded in death.

Dillon Boy Scout Troops Mark Anniversary Week

National anniversary week observed by three Dillon troops with programs and exercises. Last Thursday was good turn day. Friday honored by patrols. Saturday featured a Roosevelt radio address at the guild hall. Sunday Scouts attended their chosen church. Troop 14 met at 7:30 with 23 present. plan included a banquet rescheduling and talks on Troop No. 14 traditions.

Frank Morgan Dies After Brief Illness in Montana

Frank Morgan died Thursday morning at the county farm after a brief illness from a heart attack. He was 58, born in Virginia City, spent most of his life in Madison and Beaverhead counties as a farm laborer and ranchman. Survived by daughter Mrs. Gilbert Denny and a step daughter in Ogden Utah. Funeral held Saturday at Brundage chapel with Rev Harold Biram officiating, interment at Mountain View Cemetery.

A Hamilton dispatch reports Elgin Dan, once a Beaverhead County High School student, to be jailed after three Darby high school youths were wounded by shotgun slugs during a charivari in front of Mr and Mrs Daw following their marriage.

Successful Farmers Union Dance At Dillmont Park

The Old-Time Farmers' Union dance drew about 450 attendees from Nelson, Riverside, and beyond at Dillmont park last Saturday night. 150 couples entered the grand march and 150 pairs vied in the prize waltz with Jack Keenan and Mrs Keenan winning the older class and Charles Lloyd and Mrs Lloyd winning the younger class. Verdict of Not Guilty in Rebich Forgery Case
