Dr. A. H. McFarland presided over the Dillon Rotary club meeting at the Andrus hotel. Attorney J. J. Kelly spoke on law and the session closed with Rotary quartet songs. Kenneth Wheat invited Rotarians to a father and son gathering at the high school on February 15. Lee McCracken named next meeting chairman.
The American Legion auxiliary board met Monday and chose to adopt a 7 year old orphan boy. His separated parents and a veteran hospital resident father in Helena are noted. Seven state orphans are eligible for such adoptions, with Dillon unit taking one. A valentine dance next Monday will raise funds for the boy’s support.
The Dillon Horse Sales company will hold its annual sale of more than 500 horses at their yards south of Dillon on Monday February 28. Auctioneer Clyde Moore of Billings will lead the ring with A G Williams as clerk and George Ditty as company manager in charge. A 300 head draft lot and a selection of saddle, halter broke, mares and geldings will be offered, with stock arriving the day before to facilitate classing and bidding. The sale begins at 1 p m.

Robert Pearson, 25, a draughtsman, was arrested in Dillon after a stolen Hudson car tied to Charles Bessete of Butte was recovered. Pearson confessed to ten months of auto theft across multiple states, including Spokane and Butte, and joked about execution as a deterrent.
The county commissioners met in regular session at the courthouse and approved hanging a picture of W. T. Mauldin in tribute to the land donor. They also heard Matt Platt's plea for education for his 14 year old son who has lived rough to attend school, with no decision yet.
