Three Central high school players from Butte joined local girls in Friday night mischief at the Orr mansion dubbed the Haunted House. A window was pried, others entered, but Sheriff Orr surprised them. Judge Phillips fined each $5 with costs. fines later remitted. Officers vow to stop the activity.

C W Stallings acting postmaster at Bannack visited town on Tuesday. The Bannack office was declared vacant after former postmaster William Underwood died December 31 at Warm Springs and the department failed to learn of his death during proceedings.

Mrs. Maggie H. Edie longtime Beaverhead County resident died Friday night at her South Idaho street home after a paralytic stroke. Born in Fifeshire Scotland she came to the United States in 1879 and moved to Dillon in 1892 with her husband James Edie who died in 1897. Surviving: son John a brother James Morrison and granddaughter Margaret Grimes. Funeral services were held Monday at 2 p m with pastors I J Grothveld and Ernest E Loft officiating. interment Mountain View Cemetery.
A birthday dinner was held Sunday Jan 80 by Mr and Mrs Edpar Rife honoring Isaac Rife Sr. Despite long illness Ike enjoyed a rare outing with guests including Ike Rife Jr Col Alph Decker Rev Edgington and the Scott and Foote families.

Since 1920 the state grew from 548000 to 695000, an increase of 147000 in six and a half years. The national population stands at 117136000 on July 1 1926 and 118628000 on July 1 1927.
Beaverhead county high school delegation to the boys vocational congress in Bozeman returned Thursday morning praising the convention. Three acts will open the show directed by Helen Mae Smith, Helen Jones, and Margaret Galloway, each featuring music and dance. D V Paddock oversees the production and reports strong town support.

The Rev H G Ricketts attempted to cross thin Beaverhead ice while angling with a rifle for protection against jackrabbits. As he neared the opposite bank a crack sent him into the frigid water, his gun and rod lost, and rescue came in seconds, revealing an icy near‑miss with near absolute zero.
The Ellen May guild will be entertained by Mrs. T. Lee McCracken and Miss Lenore Thompson on Thursday afternoon February 10 at Mrs. McCracken's North Atlantic street home. Mrs. Margaret Curran will recount her Alaska trip from last summer.
