Scouts Celebrate Founding Week With Honors In City
The 29th anniversary of the Boy Scouts of America was opened with a court of honor in the city court room. Sixteen Scouts and Cub Scouts received awards for achievements including Wolf and Gold Wolf ranks. Bear Lion and Tenderfoot badges. civics pathfinding safety and merit badges. Superintendent Anderson urged Scout values and tolerance, and a court program followed with flag ceremony addresses and taps. A second event, the annual Boy Scout dinner at the Methodist church featured Judge Ripley of Butte as speaker and various stunts by troops.

Charity Ball Set For Saturday Benefit At City Hall
Dillon residents plan a charity ball Saturday hosted by the Parent Teacher Association to aid needy children. Miss Katherine MacGregor notes urgent funds for medical care clothing and food. A canteen will operate in city hall during the dance. Mrs. Fred Chapman chairs and local merchants donate food for the canteen.

Gasoline Truck Collision Blocks Highway 91
A gasoline tanker spilled fuel and two trucks sideswiped near the Van Camp bridge on Highway 91 south of the city. The gasoline truck ruptured its tank after the impact, the Garrett Transfer rig suffered a broken steering rod, and both trucks remained on the road. Officers Wright and Troupe investigated the crash with the vehicles towed from the scene.

Gargoyles Win Wodvil Competition at Normal College
Gargoyle club wins first place at the annual gooi vil show presented by the junior class booster club at Normal college. Second place goes to the sophomore class with Merchant of Venice satire on Hitler and the Munich conference. The Minuet by the French club takes third. Judges included Miss Bishop Rimel Romersa Kirkpatrick Meeke. Don's Dance Band provided music. large crowd attended.

Ski Club Plans Polaris Trip For February Sunday
Dillon Ski club members will travel to Polaris on Sunday February 12 with a 10 am depot gathering. Cars will stop at the depot to pickup members without transport. Lunches will be available at the Polaris store and skiing will be on the hills west of Polaris.
