Former Dillon Man Claimed by Death
David C. Hoerning a long time Dillon resident died last Saturday morning at his home in San Bernardino California after a brief illness. He was born March 2 1861 in Frankport Indiana and lived in Missouri before moving to Dillon then California two years ago. He is survived by his widow five sons Clarence Ernest Lester Lee and Edward and two daughters Mrs A E Franklin and Mabel Hoerning. The body will be brought to Dillon Friday afternoon with his children Lester and Mabel and the funeral will be at 3 PM from Brundage parlors with Rev J D Smith officiating interment in Mountain View cemetery.

Sheridan High defeated the Beaver 17 to 14 while the Pocatello Tigers routed Normal Bulldogs 58 to 16 at the Normal college gym. Beavers led early 7-2 before Sheridan pulled away, with Stine scoring twice late to seal the win.

Hundreds of rattlers killed in snake hunt near Dillon
Dan Mooney and locals dynamited two rattlesnake dens along Beaverhead river ten miles south of Dillon. About 500 snakes, from inches to four feet, were killed in blasts and subsequent club work. Six snakes were displayed in town. Mooney nicknamed Rattlesnake Pete and aimed to sell hides and oil but locals doubted the venture.

Dillon and surrounding youths joined the Dillon branch of the American Air Cadets, chartered with 78 members under B J Gunderson and George M Melton. About fifty construction kits were distributed, many boys built planes quickly, receiving grease monkey badges and progress toward pilot and Ace ranks. Materials sold at cost. contests planned to crown skilled builders. Melton serves as town commander and issued club instructions emphasizing patience and care.

Vincent Crimmins, Shell Oil employee of Butte, was killed when a large gas truck overturned nine miles north of Melrose after failing a turn near Moose Creek. Driver Lew Cooper escaped with minor injuries. the wreck occurred around 5 AM following a Dillon to Butte trip.

Moe Car Damaged In Crash Near Browne
Returning Wednesday evening from Butte after a game with the Miners a group of six Bulldog players and Coach Moe escaped injury when Moe's car was sideswiped by a northbound machine. The two cars were badly damaged and a wrecker towed the Moe machine to Dillon. Five men in the other car initially threatened conflict but backed down when confronted by the six players. The Bulldogs lost to Butte Mines 34 to 11, Persha scoring the locals only basket for the lead.

Commissioners Appoint Members of Fair Board
