Mrs. Mary E. Wampler 80 of Los Angeles widow of David F. Wampler pioneer ranchman of the Big Hole basin died after a lingering illness. Survived by four daughters Mrs J C Hill Long Beach Mrs J A Shaw Mrs Barbara Ambrose of Los Angeles and Mrs H A Smith of Butte a son D C Wampler Dell thirteen grandchildren and several great grandchildren. She moved to the Big Hole valley in 1886 and has lived in California the last twenty years.

Alleged Forger Held After Check Purchase Gone Wrong
A young man known as Jack Davey was arrested Monday evening by Undersheriff C E Blinn and Chief Charles Nelson in a local rooming house and jailed on a charge of writing a worthless check. He allegedly bought stock feed to be shipped to Idaho and paid with a check about $20 over the price, then fled but was located after hours of search. Police say he is a pardoned convict.
