Beaverhead county wool buyers report record interest with prices from 38 to 41 cents. Top bid of 41 cents paid by R E Foster for Selway Sheep and E F Price estate clips, with about half the county clip contracted and many large lot purchases by Boston and Chicago firms.

Three County Wool Clips Hit 41 Cents a Pound
The third county wool clip to top Montana state prices was sold Thursday to R. E. Foster of Silberman & Son Chicago for 41 cents per pound from Roscoe Cornell. The clip totals about 6,000 fleeces and includes Selway Sheep Co and E. F. Price lots also fetching 41 cents.

Legion Men Donate Fifty Dollars To Red Cross Chapter
Beaverhead post of the Legion donated 50 to the local Red Cross chapter at the Thursday meeting in appreciation of aid to destitute ex service men passing through Dillon. The gathering included a 7 o'clock luncheon at the Andrus dining room and a large attendance. Commander S W Bond presided and Adjutant B A Risley reported 40 members had paid dues for the year. Also noted were rehearsals for the Legion show on Feb 15 and 16. Frank M Thomas, longtime Dillon resident, died at Barrett hospital aged 74. he came to Dillon in 1889 with J E Morse. He is survived by brothers in Illinois. Funeral set for Friday at 2 pm from Brundage chapel with Rev H B Ricketts officiating. interment at Mountain View cemetery.

Dillon prepares for the district tournament with 12 teams and reduced rail fares under a fare and one half plan. Tickets go on sale now with season sales ending February 10 and single admissions priced at 50 cents opening, 75 cents semifinals, and $1 final. Beaverhead DeMolay basketball team and two delegates attended the State Conclave in Great Falls. The team lost 238 to 20 to Billings, with Anthony Connolley and James Price among players. Delegates were James Price and William Backus. Price also played on the team.
