Fatal accidental burns claim Swan Benson in Dillon
Swan Benson died Monday after severe burns sustained Thursday while using kerosene to start a kitchen fire at his West Helena street home. Firefighters arrived late, rescue attempts failed, and he died of toxemia at Barrett hospital. Benson, born 1862 in Sweden, had lived in Dillon since 1910 and belonged to Odd Fellows. He is survived by his wife, son Charles, and other relatives in Sweden.

Former Dillon Resident Lulu Lindsly Dies in Seattle
Lulu Lindsly daughter of Mrs. Etta Schuck and former Dillon resident died January 17 in Seattle after an appendicitis operation. She was about 42, survived by her mother sister Hallie of California and son Simeon Creasey. Her grandmother was pioneer Simeon Estes. Fielding Gray recovered from appendicitis and will soon return to Gray’s pool hall.
