Moonshine Plant Ruined as Hoffman Fined in Bannack Case
After Walter Hoffman was arrested on an illegal liquor charge, Sheriff Mooney and Under Sheriff Kellum found a moonshine operation two miles east of Bannack. The 50 gallon still and product were confiscated. Hoffman pled guilty and paid a $200 fine with 60 days jail suspended on payment. Authorities report destroying about a dozen stills since January, part of a countywide crackdown.

Butte Men Fined for Hunting After Sunset
Butte men S C Sweet Fred Lewis and J W Morton were arrested near the Meine ranch Friday evening by Deputy Game Warden Tom Edmunds. Lewis and Morton pled guilty to shooting ducks after sunset and were fined 25 each plus confiscation of two guns. Sweet pled not guilty claiming a jammed shell and the charge was dismissed.

Dillon Business Man Archibald Barshaw Dies in Butte
Archibald Barshaw died in a Butte hospital last Tuesday from gallstone complications after an operation. Born 59 years ago in Bay County Michigan he came to Montana around 1900. He ranched near Twin Bridges before police work in Butte and later ran the Barshaw cafe on Montana Street with his wife. He is survived by three daughters and a son Mrs E T Morrow of Levan Wash Mrs E E Seyler and Mrs Adolph Stewart of Twin Bridges and Andrea and Alex of Dillon. Funeral is this afternoon at Twin Bridges with Rev T Clifford of Lima Catholic church officiating.
