A 1939 Agricultural Conservation AAA election and county convention are set with meetings at Dell Jackson Melrose and Dillon from Dec 3 to Dec 8. Farmers will elect community committeemen and delegates to the Dillon December 20 convention. Map areas include Horse Prairie Medicine Lodge Red Rock Sage Creek Sheep Creek Centennial Grasshopper Big Hole valleys.

Two Hurt in Bannack Road Accident
Miss May Phillips of Anaconda and her cousin Loren Stanfield of Butte were scratched and bruised when their car skidded at a dangerous Bannack road point known as the Dugway and rolled over several times. They had left their uncle prior to the crash.

Idaho man fined for year old traffic count
James Martin of Thornton Idaho pleaded guilty to a traffic violation in Judge Louis Stahl's court and was fined 75 dollars. Unable to pay, he was placed in county jail. The incident stemmed from an auto wreck near the Van Camp bridge south of Dillon involving a towed car. He disappeared after the crash until being arrested by highway patrolman Robert Wright upon his return to Idaho.

Victor Grace Dies at Home in Missoula
Victor Grace, a former Dillon resident, died at his Missoula home on November 23 due to heart trouble. He grew up in Dillon, attended local schools, and was a plumber with the Dart Hardware company. He moved to Missoula about 18 years ago and left behind many friends.

Music and Talks Heard at Dillon Rotary Meeting
The Dillon Rotary club heard a program of music and talks led by Montana State Normal college students. Nadine Kuss of Butte sang three solos with Ralph McFadden as accompanist. A mixed quartet also performed. John Carr spoke on subsidization of college football and its pay schemes. Dr. S E Davis, Normal college president, discussed a Rotary trip to Chicago and visits to major city institutions and events.

John Perry Watters, 78, a prominent Beaverhead valley rancher, died Wednesday at his ranch near Dillon from pneumonia after a short illness. Born in Texas in 1860, he lived in Red Lodge briefly before settling in Beaverhead County. Survived by son William Watters. Funeral Saturday at 2 PM from Brundage chapel, burial in Mountain View cemetery.

Grace Hammond a Normal college student learns of her husband D. H. Hammond's death in an apparent auto accident ten miles from Fort Peck. He worked as a dredge man on the Fort Peck dam. telegram reached his wife after he sent a Thanksgiving greeting and invited daughter Joyce to celebrate in Butte.
