Renfro High In National Shoot At Vandalia Ohio
Ted Renfro of the Dillon Gun club placed second in the amateur doubles at the grand American handicap in Vandalia Ohio. He shot 95 targets in finals, setting the high mark for the event, and was praised by trapshooting writer Jimmy Robinson as the greatest doubles shooter. Mr and Mrs Harvey Sorenson returned from Chicago, reporting an enjoyable World’s Fair trip.

Mrs Rosetta Sage Dies After Lingering Illness
Mrs Rosetta Sage of the Horse Prairie area, Grant, Montana, died last Monday after a long illness. Born in Medarsville Indiana 69 years ago, she moved to Montana about 1886 and has lived in Grant for 24 years. She leaves a daughter Mrs William Eden of Port Orchard Washington and a son Henry of Springfield. Funeral services were held Wednesday at 2 pm with interment in Mountain View cemetery.

Footstool thwarted jail escape at Beaverhead jail
Undersheriff James McCollum repelled L. W. Pryor with a heavy footstool about 9 PM as Pryor tried to flee through the jail door after smashing a window. Pryor, held on burglary charges, returned to his cell after the blow. He claimed innocence amid ongoing confinement. two prior escape attempts this year had succeeded.

Evidence Taken in Suit Against County Board
In district court Judge Lyman H. Bennett heard evidence in a civil suit by Theodore Nelson Charles Meine and Leslie Staudenmeier against the county board of commissioners over a restraining order on selling $11,100 in county bonds. Testimony was given by several officials and others from Missoula. The judge took the matter under advisement. The suit claims no budget provision for the fiscal year starting July 1 1931 for the expenditure used to buy three caterpillar auto patrols. Defendants named include Commissioners Martin C. Jackson W B Hartwig and Edgar B. Rife.

Herbert Snyder of Sheridan collapsed on Montana street in front of City Drug Store around noon Wednesday. He struck the curb and back of his head, sustaining a depressed skull fracture. He was taken to Barrett hospital awaiting the county physician. his son Donald and sister Ellen were summoned.

Suspects Held in Stickney Burglary Case
With a return from Idaho Falls last Saturday, L W Pryor and another suspect are held at the county jail for trial in the Stickney home burglary. Charles Raw confessed and aided recovery of most stolen items including clothing, suitcases, a portable typewriter, and a shotgun. Three others arrested at the time were released.

Military Rites Held For Albert Polish
Funeral services were held at St Rose Church for Albert Polish son of Mr and Mrs Matt Polish of Glen. A Marine veteran and high school honor student died after peritonitis at Mare Island hospital. Interment followed at Mountain View cemetery with a Beaverhead American Legion firing squad. He had traveled via Seattle and a motor trip before falling ill aboard the Pennsylvania. Survived by four brothers Rudolph Matt John Joe and three sisters Mrs Joe Nample Evelyn Mrs George Sabina.

They traced rock piles cairns and stone circles, noting religious or guiding purposes and visiting Buffalo Falls.
