Future Farmers Make Long Trip
Eight members and the advisor E W Bjork of the Beaverhead Chapter of Future Farmers of America returned last Thursday from an educational tour of about one thousand miles through Montana Wyoming and Idaho. The group traveled August 6 by car visiting Butte Helena Great Falls Belt White Sulphur Springs Livingston and Yellowstone National Park. Stops included the State Capital North Montana Fair Great Falls Smelter Giant Springs Rainbow Power House and Falls Shoshone Dam near Cody and other Yellowstone Park sites. The one car plus a Future Farmer trailer carried all, with camping and cooking in the open. Cost per person was nine dollars covering tickets, transportation, meals, park fees, boat rides and fishing on Yellowstone Lake. The trip proved educational and recreational and the chapter plans similar tours. The Beaverhead stock judging team tied for third at the North Montana Fair contest in Great Falls. team members Rozman Christensen Greene with Rudolph Platt as alternate. Big Timber won first and twenty dollars.

At a Beaverhead County High School board meeting last evening several vacancies were filled. Jean Ballard to succeed Mildred Buckneberg in the city, Edwin Eagle of St. Regis named for mathematics, Marjorie Foote for home economics, Ruby Rogness to handle Spanish and Latin with continuity from last semester. J E Monroe elected principal to replace W W Wahl who resigned. All other staff keep their current positions.

Dillon Youth Is Accident Victim
Rodney Foster, former Dillon resident, was killed in a Los Angeles car crash. The body will be brought to Dillon for burial with funeral at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Brundage Chapel, Rev. Sheriff Harry Meppin and three deputies followed a noon Monday robbery at the American National bank in Rigby. The unnamed suspect, described as short and slight in bib overalls and a paper helmet, fled in a gray Ford V-8 with Texas plates and was headed north toward this county. Authorities armed with machine guns and shotguns chased a daylight bandit note but found no trace.

Stolen Fond Truck Recovered Near River Bridge
A Fond truck owned by Guido Shafer stolen Wednesday near the training school was found abandoned the next day north of town by the river bridge. The 125 mile drive left the vehicle undamaged and all tools intact.

Pea Crop Being Brought to Town in Dillon Valley
Harvesting of seed peas has started in the Beaverhead valley. The crop is hauled to the Dillon Implement warehouse to be cleaned for shipment to Rogers Bros. Seed Co. of Idaho Falls. Mr. Ferguson in charge says yields will be similar to last year with some heavier sections. Quality is good and market price is about 25 cents per hundred higher than last year.
