Pioneer Ranchman Across Divide Dies at Beav erhead

Martin Barrett a Montana pioneer and Barrett memorial hospital donor died at his home on South Pacific street last Saturday evening after a year of illness. Born February 2 1840 in Ireland he came to America with his family in 1847 and later built a vast ranching fortune in Beaverhead County. His death follows the passing of his wife Mrs Barrett about 18 months ago. Barrett’s life spanned early territorial progress and he was a noted benefactor to the community through the hospital bearing his name.

Huge Wheat Crop Forecast For Montana State

Montana and federal agriculture officials forecast a record wheat harvest of 72 696 000 bushels, about 20 million above the previous record. Beaverhead High to Open September 6

Beaverhead county high school will start fall terms on September 6 with enrollment expected to exceed prior years as most eighth graders will attend.
