Popular Dillon cafe changed hands to former owners
A deal completed early this week sees Mrs. A Barshaw and Mrs. Bessie Barshaw purchasing the Beaverhead cafe on Montana street. The venue was recently re opened by Charles Shokley who had bought it about a year earlier from Mrs Barshaw. The Beaverhead has long been a favorite dining spot and is expected to attract more patrons under its new/old management given the Barshaws' experienced menu expertise.

Esteemed Dillon Woman Dies in Butte
Emma Georgia Foster died in a Butte hospital after a Sunday morning collapse following a Wednesday operation. Born in Hannibal Missouri 46 years ago, she moved to Dillon 18 years ago. She was a mother, wife of R. E. Foster, a St James Episcopal member, Eastern Star Mizpah chapter member, and active in the community. Funeral services were held at the Masonic hall with Eastern Star rites, Rev T W Bennett officiating. Interment followed at Mountain View cemetery.

Rev George McDougall Paddles Salmon River Canoe Trip
The Rev George McDougall and C B Marsh paddled an 18 foot canoe from the Pahsimaroi mouth to Salmon River, averaging 10 miles an hour, camping en route. They saw a beaver and blue herons, plan lectures on their journey, and McDougall is to speak at the May church tonight.

A roundup of abandoned horses in the Medicine Lodge district will be held Saturday by ranchers from that area and the Howse Prairie district. Dale Metlen and Charles Brennt serve as foremen, with both districts sharing headquarters at their foremen's ranches. Unclaimed horses after a set period will be sold at auction.

Arrest of Walter Trombley in Butte on grand larceny charge
Walter Trombley a former Blacktail rancher was arrested in Butte on a warrant for grand larceny regarding allegedly mortgaged property sales. He was brought to Dillon, pled not guilty, and bound over to district court with $1,000 bond. Anaconda American Legion plans a $5,000 national veterans memorial.

Mrs. Morrison Dies Sudden in Shelton Nebraska
Mrs. Ernest Morrison died suddenly last Thursday at Shelton Nebraska shocking Dillon Centennial valley and Madison county communities where she spent summers with her husband who managed Schultz sheep ranch. She was sister to Frank Otto and Tom Schultz and leaves a daughter in Shelton a son in St Joseph Missouri and three other brothers. The Morrison and Schultz families traveled to Shelton for the funeral. Community friends express deep sympathy.

Murray S. Stebbins of the Montana Wool Growers association reports 4,000 sheep owners in Montana place the 1926 wool and lamb crop value above 20 million dollars. Dillon Reduces Electric Rates After Public Hearing
The Montana Public Service Commission orders Union Electric to cut residential electric rates from 14 to 10 cents per kilowatt hour with a 1.50 minimum, plus stepped rates for higher usage and similar relief for public buildings.
