In the Rocky Mountain Miner of Montana, the Beaverhead Mining Association is praised for rapid growth from eight to over a hundred members. It is credited with reviving mining interest and opening eight properties in Beaverhead County. The Vigilante Mining Association congratulates the Beaverhead group and hopes for continued success. Former City Resident James Brown Dies in Alaska
James Brown a longtime resident of this section died in April in Anchorage Alaska at about 95. He left Dillon around 1914 and later worked in mining and other ventures in Alaska. Born January 1 1875 in Sands North Carolina he later visited Dillon and the East before his passing. Relatives in North Carolina survive. No death details were learned by local friends.

Blizzard Hits Beaverhead County With Snow Drifts

Normal to Offer Extended Course in Manual Training
The state shows demand for men trained in manual and physical subjects. Montana State Normal College will begin an extended course in these two subjects this fall directed by O. K. Moe and athletic director John Breeden. The program, starting with autumn term, aims to attract many male students by offering additional training alongside the four year course approved by the state board of education.

Dillmont Park Opens With Dance Season Saturday
The Dillmont park pavilion opens this Saturday with a season opening dance and will host regular dances every Saturday night through summer and fall. A large Dillon Rotary group attended the district convention in Anaconda this week. Ralph Harding of the Dillon club won the state Rotary golf championship with a score of 88 on the tough Anaconda course, earning a handsome golf club prize. Registration ends for Montana May 5 special election
The Albert Baker office closes registration books Saturday at 6 PM for the May 5 special election on Referendum No 35. Voters who did not vote in the last general election and have not registered must do so to vote. The measure authorizes highway debentures and would let Montana receive about 7.5 million dollars in federal aid.
