Scouts hold their first annual kite flying tournament at Turner Camp with kites named Bear Andy Gump Flying Eagle and more. Three prizes awarded for best workmanship and flight height and distance as dads join in teaching the young flyers.
A chick hatched at Mrs. Maud Hubbard’s poultry plant on Barnett Avenue with four legs. The extra pair were connected by a cord and amputated. The bird recovered fully and now appears normal except for faint surgical marks, according to Hubbard.
Cigarettes and candy formed most of the loot at the Western Wholesale Grocery warehouse last night. Authorities continued work on the case and belief grew that Dillon youths committed the burglary, with arrests anticipated before night.

Ed Marlin and Al Simon pleaded guilty in district court to selling moonshine to minors. Each were fined 300 dollars and sentenced to six months in jail. Judge Smith rebuked them. Bert Cornell also pleaded guilty to selling charges, fined 200 dollars and jailed 60 days.

Senator Frank A. Hazelbaker was named chairman of the Beaverhead County Coolidge committee and released a districted roster of 36 members. The state organization is headed by Senator J. M. Burlingame of Great Falls with full personnel including Hazelbaker as executive chairman and George Gosman among others across multiple towns.
Under American Legion Auxiliary auspices, Charles R. McCalley, noted entertainer, will perform Monday evening at the training school auditorium. The program includes readings violin solos and pianologues with favorable comments from towns where he has appeared.

A large workforce has been assigned to the Utopia Mining Company mine near Apex. Thomas Gardiner, a prominent Kalispell businessman, is assisting Mr Roose in pushing the project. Both men serve as officers of the company.

The Sacajawea Camp Fire Girls met on Wednesday April 2. Several girls completed business honors and worked on the Count Book and scrapbooks. Some scrapbooks were finished. The program committee outlined plans for the next meeting.
Mrs Jennicon B Parker of Seattle arrived in Dillon on Wednesday evening to visit her parents Dr and Mrs F H Bimrose.
Among the Dillon faculty departing Tuesday for Spokane to join the Inland Empire Teachers association were LeRoy W. Beam principal of County High School Louis Sch lier and L. C. McCullough from the training school Miss Velma Phill ips and J. F. McBain from the State Normal college.
The city council fixed June 26 for a special $100,000 bond election to repair and improve the water system. Registration books close May 12 per county clerk notices. Only 54 votes were cast in the city election. four aldermen were reelected. Voter registration by wards totals 835 in First, 315 in Second, 187 in Third, and 258 in Fourth. School election in district No 10 saw 80 votes with Mrs. A L Anderson and Marshal Field reelected. Registration closes today for the presidential primary on May 27. unlisted electors cannot vote.
