Funeral for Farmer Smith Held in Dillon
The late Farmer Smith’s funeral occurred Friday afternoon in Dillon with interment at Mountain View Cemetery. Ground to Death Beneath 0.8 L Train in Dillon
Verne Goings, a young Dillon resident, was killed when he fell from a moving morning passenger train between Idaho Falls and Dillon. An inquest was held Thursday. Goings, about 30, left a wife in Dillon. R. E. Carey identified the body.

Large Enrollment at State Normal College Sees Surging Numbers
Enrollment at the State Normal College closed yesterday at 237 and is expected to reach 260 by week’s end as new students arrive by train. On the first day enrollment stood at 186 and by the second day reached 200. Also reported, Wyman Smith, noted 1919 B.B.H. champion, suffered three broken ribs during football practice at Montana College in Bozeman last week.

Registration shows gain of five hundred voters
About five hundred more people are entitled to vote in Beaverhead county than eligible at the primary. Registration books closed last Friday showing an increase of about five hundred. Total county vote should be about four thousand, with registration for the general election a little over thirty five hundred. Nearly fifty appeared at the county clerk and recorder’s office to sign after books closed.

Nickey Arrested for Shooting Ducks Before Sunrise
Chickey of Butte residence was arrested last week on a charge of shooting ducks before sunrise at Redrock lakes. Nickey pled guilty in Judge Hansen's court in Lima, was fined, and his shotgun worth about one hundred dollars was confiscated.

Aged Matron Mary Bigler Dies in Dillon at 89
Mary Bigler longtime Dillon resident died last Wednesday at her daughter Emma Carhartt’s home in the Telephone block aged 89. Funeral held Thursday at the Presbyterian church with Rev. Mays officiating. interment Mountain View cemetery. Born 1833 in New York she crossed to Utah during the gold rush era and later moved to Dillon twenty five years ago. Survived by daughters Mrs Carhartt and Mrs Eliza Black and son Lyman Bigler of Lima.
