Normal College To Open Monday For Fall Term
Montana State Normal college prepares to begin its autumn term next Monday with registration starting Saturday to accommodate early arrivals. Enrollment is expected to rise due to a new four year program, attracting former students and diploma holders returning for degrees and many freshmen planning the four year course. Some students have already arrived in Dillon with most coming Sunday and Monday. The college offers a two year diploma path and liberal four year options with advanced courses in history government English art manual training music French mathematics and science including beginner and two year French and various math classes.

Wise River Boy Wins State Poster Contest

Three Escape From Jail Here Sunday Morning
Beaverhead county officers search Montana Idaho for three inmates who escaped from the county jail using an ordinary can opener to hack through a stone wall. Two escapees had prior prison records. Four other inmates did not hear the break and stayed in their cells.

HARLES J. KELLY prominent Beaverhead county rancher died at Barrett hospital last Thursday night shortly before six. After brief illness and an operation on Friday his condition worsened. His death shocked friends across the county where he had long resided.

Frances E Cochrane longtime Beaverhead county resident died at her Orr street home last Thursday after a long illness. Born February 18 1846 in Illinois she came West with her husband in 1898 and lived in Grasshopper valley. Surviving are son F W Cochrane and granddaughter Gladys Cochrane both of New Orleans. Funeral held Saturday at Brundage chapel Rev T J Simons officiated and body shipped to Macomb Illinois.
