Harold Cash, 19, of Dillon, is killed by electrocution after a tension line derby in Transcontinental Air. The incident occurred Saturday morning as locals gather for the event in Fargo, shocking the community.
Harold Cashmore, 19, of Dillon, died instantly after touching a high voltage line while attaching power to an aerial. He fell 25 feet to a concrete sidewalk and Burns marked his body. Neighbors and Dr M A Walker attended. the incident occurred on East One Street. The article also mentions Wisdom butter prizes and Three Forks creamery achievements.
On opening day last Friday hunters crowded Red Rock lakes and nearby streams in Montana. Despite high hunter turnout from Butte and Anaconda, ducks and geese were scarce with many hunters returning with only two or three birds. No casualties were reported during the opening days.
Seventy eight players enter the two ball mixed foursome tournament to be held next Sunday afternoon at the Dilton Country Club course. Matches start at 1 20 p m with ten minute intervals and players urged to be ready thirty minutes early.

Josiah Libby a Montana pioneer and former rancher died near the Miss Libby Crittenden ranch in Stone Creek shortly after noon on Wednesday. He was born March 11 1840 in Northport Maine and became a Bozeman area settler after an early shoemaking career in Boston and New York. Known as Uncle Libby his death saddens many local families who remember him as a longtime neighbor and friend.
The Beaverhead County Commissioners met September 1 1927 in Dillon to open bids for fencing the Flathead Road Project 241A near Glen Montana. Bids read and approved with Leo Talent Dillon listed. fence plan details 1760 rods of 26 inch wire plus two barb wires on posts one rod apart with stays at 1.95 dollars per rod.
The Montana Congress of Parents and Teachers publishes its first monthly bulletin from Dillon as official P T A organ. Beaverhead post plans district gathering October 8 with 200 or more Legionnaires from mining districts and delegations from Anaconda Butte Helena and others expected for the American Legion convention in Dillon.
The will of the late Martin Barrett, a Montana pioneer, was admitted to probate in district court last Saturday. Executors named include R. M. Barrett, Jack Barrett, W. A. Graeter and John Collins. Bequests include 20000 to Jack Barrett and Katie Rifé each, 50 to St Rose Catholic Church, 20 to Rev F X Lechner, with the residue over a million to R. M. Barrett.
Sept 18 report shows a $40 ticket for the Dempsey Tunney bout allocating a $3,000,000 pot. Figures break down federal tax 83.64, state tax 83.64, Tunney share 18.33, Dempsey share 6.00, field rental 1.34, promoter profit 9.05, total 410.00. Proportions based on Tunney purse of 1,000,000 and Dempsey 450,000 with taxes and expenses.
Four girls sustained injuries in accidents in or near Dillon during the past week. Jeanne Covall, eight, broke her arm falling from a playground ladder at Dillon training school, fracturing above the wrist and bruising her forehead. Bleie Rouse also broke an arm when the horse she rode at a downtown street scene startled and threw her. Ethel Jean Davis, daughter of Normal College president, and Bee Forsyth, daughter of Mrs. Forsyth, were seriously hurt Sunday afternoon in separate incidents.
Beaverhead sheepmen report over 600000 dollars entering their coffers as 1927 lambs fetch an average of about 11 cents per pound. Some growers receive higher, with 70000 plus lambs shipped in September and feeder stock sent to eastern states for winter. Major buyers include Carsten Packing Seattle and Wilson & Company Los Angeles while local brokers Burden Melton and Foster handle most transactions.
Beaverhead County High School coach B J Gunderson and Montana State Normal coach O K Moe train teams daily. College squad has two full groups with veterans Henneberry Scott and Riberdy back, plus rising local stars. Notable upcoming games include Mt St Charles at Helena October 29 and Ricks College Rexburg at Dillon November 5.
