Beaverhead County Regular Meeting Minutes 1927
Beaverhead County Montana Board of Commissioners held a regular session September 5 1927 approving August minutes and authorizing each commissioner to inspect roads bridges and county property for the month ahead including the courthouse county poor farm and machine sheds. On September 6 1927 the board discussed vandalism complaints in Centennial Valley and instructed the Clerk to file a $300 claim against Water DNGih Reservoir Co for joint work.

Visits by J B O Dell and wife to Dillon friends
Mr and Mrs J B O Dell formerly of Dillon and now of Odessa Washington arrived last Thursday from Odessa and spent two days with pioneer friends in Dillon. Doc O Dell known locally rode the range in early days and his eldest son was born in Dillon. After visiting Billings they will return to Odessa where he conducts business.

Butte Pilot Sets Quick Hop Record to Woodside Field
Butte aviator Jack Lynch flew from Butte to Woodside field in under an hour, carrying three passengers. He faced a head wind but still achieved a rapid 60 mile route across the continental divide, with Dillon only 39 minutes away by air.

Don E Fish Dies While Saving Daughter at Lake Superior
Dillon friends mourn the death of Don E Fish a Beaverhead county high school instructor drowned August 28 at Lake Superior near Aul Train Michigan while saving his 10 year old daughter Harriet also lost her life. His son Charles nearly drowned but survived. The tragedy occurred as the Fish children swam the father attempted to reach Harriet and both were overcome by cold water. Charles reached shore while Don E Fish sank and was recovered later. Harriet's body remained missing for two days. Funeral services were held August 27 at Ames Town from the family.

Beaverhead Legion Post Plans District Convention This Month
Beaverhead Post of the American Legion will host district legionnaires this month and discuss convention plans at the first regular meeting after summer recess. Dillon vets will arrange extensive plans drawing delegates from every post in the district and hope for attendance by drum and bugle corps from Butte and Anaconda. They will also plan an Armistice day celebration with a parade football game fireworks and other features. Alvin Jones named adjutant replacing Henry C Wyatt who moved to Seattle per Commander George Baker.
