The daily bag limits set ducks ten with one wood duck mergansers up to 25. geese two per species or four snow or blue geese totaling six birds daily. Otto C. Gosman Dies. Beaverhead Pioneer and Official
Otto C. Gosman 81 prominent Beaverhead pioneer and longtime county commissioner and sheriff died at Barrett hospital after a long illness. Born in Lohr Germany on June 1 1864 he came to the U S as a youth and worked in railroading before ranching. He served Beaverhead as commissioner and sheriff in multiple terms and was affiliated with several Masonic and Eastern Star bodies. Survived by two sons in Dillon and Lima three grandchildren and several sisters and brothers in law. Funeral Thursday at 2 from St James Episcopal church with Masonic graveside rites in Mountain View cemetery.

Charles Humes Dies at 79 in Butte Hospital
Charles Humes 79, longtime Beaverhead County resident, died Friday night in a Butte hospital after a stroke at his Dillon home. Born in Pennsylvania November 18 1855 he moved to Montana in 1896 worked as a ranch laborer later owned ranches in Sweetwater district. Surviving: brother John Edward Humes Salt Lake City and a sister Loveland Colorado. Funeral held this afternoon at Brundage Funeral Home with Rev L Belle Long officiating and burial at Mountain View Cemetery.

Ram sale prices top last year's figures at Beaverhead
Prices at the fifth annual Beaverhead ram sale topped 1944 figures with an average of 35 per head. A Suffolk pen sold for 57.50 to Louis Hansen of Virginia City, while the top price was 82.50 paid by Mrs. W. B. Gardiner of Twin Bridges for a Rambouillet ram from Deer Lodge Farms. Ju. E. Sedgwick was the auctioneer. The show grand champion was a Deer Lodge Farms Targhee pen. the reserve champion was Mt. Haggin Land and Livestock Co. Hampshire pen.

World War II veterans who are farmers may obtain Farm Security Administration farm ownership loans for 1945 46. A $25 million veterans only loan pool plus an equal non veteran amount was authorized under the Bankhead Jones Act to finance full purchase prices with long repayment terms and 3 percent interest. Loans require local county FSA committee approval and must not exceed 12 000 on land and buildings. Montana is allocated 99 192 for non veterans. veterans loans are issued based on demand and county eligibility.

The Commercial league started with 16 teams playing in initial contests at Dillon Bowl. Cornell of the Men’s Store led with 587 over three games, while Sanborn of Tash Ranchers had a 228 high single. In windy conditions at the Butte Trap and Skeet club, Herman Peterson won the feature 100 bird singles with 90x100. Chuck OConnell of Butte placed second with 85, followed by Tige Talent of Dillon with 84 and Pete Westergard with 83. Paul Schwab of Dillon hit 73 in 100 birds and led 25 third handicap with 17. Peterson and Westergard posted strong doubles scores, while other Dillon shooters, including Russ Smith and Bill Backus, posted mid range results.
