Frank F. Holtz a Beaverhead ranch hand with about 25 years on local ranches died Sunday night after years of ill health. Born in Germany October 10 1869 he came to Montana in 1907 becoming naturalized at Fort Benton. No known relatives survive. funeral services were held at Brundege chapel with Rev Father F X Lechner officiating.

At the 1943 final meeting the Dillon Rodeo association approved withdrawal of stock plus accrued dividends. Next year's stock value set at 25 dollars per share with a maximum of ten shares per member. Receipts totaled 6,553.02 with 3,205 disbursed. cash on hand over 3,300. Buck and Carl Anderson each received two shares for management and secretarial efforts. Association earmarked 50 dollars to Sam Freeman for an ankle injury from Monday's show.

Samuel C Arndts Dies After Illness in Dillon
Dillon resident Samuel C. Arndts died Thursday at his home after a short illness. Born July 1 1870 in Huxley Iowa he moved to Dillon in 1891 and worked at Dillon Implement and Montana Hardware before a 1936 stint at Ermont Mine. He married Mary Louise Roe in 1900 and is survived by his widow and siblings.

Funeral services for W. E. Roberts, who died last Monday at his Crackerville home, were held Friday at the Methodist church with Rev. H. B. Ricketts of Butte officiating. Miss Alice Davis and Mrs. Helen Wheat sang trio of duets, with violin and organ accompaniment. Pallbearers were John Albers, Maynard Miller, Elwood Morrison, Stanley Sisterson, George Lenox and John Wolfe. Beaverhead Post of the American Legion conducted the service.

George E. Jewell former Dillon Blacksmith died at the Magonic home in Helena Tuesday at age 81. A Beaverhead County resident for over 45 years, he ran a shop beside the Bond grocery for years. Survived by his son Dan Jewell of Pocatello and other relatives. Funeral services set for Saturday at 2:00 PM from the Masonic hall.

Bounty Placed On Dan Parker By Beaverhead County
Dan Parker alias Charles Martin carries a $50 price on his head set by the Beaverhead County commissioners for forging a deed and similar charges in several Montana counties. He was tied to a land scam near Pocatello and Dillon last spring, involving W. H. Witsiers of Shelton Washington and Selway Sheep Co. leaseholder W. H. Hawkins. Authorities arrested him as he left the clerk and recorder’s office after filing the deed.

Burial Rites for Pioneer Solemnized
Funeral services for Clark Anderson a Beaverhead and Dillon businessman were held in the Presbyterian church with Rev. Calvin Logan officiating. Anderson died Saturday Sept. 4 after a long illness. Jean Bishop directed choir numbers and pallbearers included Clarence Axe George Baker Walter Leen Co M Casterline and S D Hirschman. Anderson arrived in Dillon in 1887 with his brother Alvin to run a livery stable and helped found a stage line from Dillon into Idaho and to Jackson Virginia City Bannack and nearby areas.

County Announces Elk Open Season Across County Areas
