Burns and Arcego Sentenced in Local Cases
Tom Burns received two years in the state prison after pleading guilty to robbery in a saloon. Josi Arcego, a Mexican, pleaded guilty to assault in the second degree and drew one year. Both were taken to Deer Lodge last week by Sheriff Wyman.

October Auction Sale Of Dillon Horses Slated
The Dillon Horse Sales company plans a two day fall sale on October 17 and 18 with George Ditty as manager. Government contracts promise strong demand for cavalry and artillery horses, and at least a thousand head are expected. Shipman Auto Wreck Narrowly Averts Collision
While returning from the oil fields last Sunday afternoon J. E. Shipman and family had a narrow escape when the colonel drove his car into a gravel pit. Mrs. Shipman suffered a cut on the head and back injury, while Mr. Shipman and Miss Harriet escaped unharmed. Shipman was driving at a high speed and his brakes failed, forcing a steering into the pit to avoid a crash.
