Judge Poindexter Arrives in State From Honolulu
Federal judge J B Poindexter arrives from Honolulu and will spend time in the state. He will handle legal work in the city with attorney T E Gilbert the county's new prosecuting attorney. Poindexter goes to Helena for the state fair. His daughter Helen travels with him to San Diego to attend high school this winter. Everton Poindexter joins his father and will resume studies at the University of Montana Missoula in a few weeks. He was selected to represent his company on a rifle range in New Jersey after two months in the state.

Dillon Horse Sales to host fall auction sale
Government Army goods will also be sold to the high est bidder. Beginning next Wednesday a large combination auction will be held at the Dillon Horse Sales company yards. Several hundred head of cattle and as many horses are listed. George Ditty, sale manager, says indications point to a good auction with $10,000 of U S army goods as a major drawing card.

Monthly Trap Shoot Held at Park Sunday
The Dillon Rod and Gun Club hosted its regular monthly trap shoot Sunday at Dillmont Park, moved a week earlier due to hunting season. The Schultz Challenge Medal, a fifty third handicap event, saw Kryberg win with Graeter second and Thornton third.

William Bicknell Held on Burglary Charge
William Bicknell was brought to Dillon last Friday from Lima and is awaiting trial on a charge of burglary. The young man under twenty is accused of prowling a box car at Lima and stealing a suit of clothes. He has admitted his guilt.

Lima Pioneer Hammond Dies at 74 in Lima
Barney Hammond a Lima pioneer died at Mrs. George Roe's Lima home last week. Funeral held Friday by Fathers Foley and Clifford. Interred in Lima cemetery. Born in Ireland 74 years ago he came to the United States as a youth and settled in Lima 36 years ago to work as car foreman in the railroad shops. Survived by wife and four daughters Mrs. Roe Mrs. Kennedy Mrs. Ella Lagen and Mrs. Nettle Ryan with Maggie Halligan as a Lima niece.

Harry Smith of Silver Star is charged with breaking into Gleed and Ripley store and stealing 37 dollars from the cash register. He reportedly gained entry by removing glass from a broken front window and has reportedly confessed.

Remains of Mrs. Burbank Brought to Dillon
The body of Mrs. A. C. Burbank who died in Pocatello Idaho last week was brought to Dillon this morning. Interment occurred in John S. Baker's Mountain View cemetery lot. She was wife of A C Burbank an early Short Line conductor and was well known in Dillon from visits to the Baker home.

Man From Redrock Deemed Mentally Deranged
A man brought from Redrock last Friday is being treated at the county hospital. He acted strangely when encountered, and officials believe hunger may have caused his temporary mental condition.

Dillon Schools Open With Nearly a Thousand Pupils
Dillon's schools led by State Normal College and Beaverhead County High School opened with almost 1000 pupils enrolled. The Normal College resumed classes, 260 registered, new teachers hired, a nurse and health program added, and a school cafeteria planned for 10 cents meals. The Training School enrolled 540 with a new kindergarten, expanded faculty, and overflow rooms. Beaverhead High reported nearly 160 students, with the new principal praising enthusiastic, cooperative students and plans for rural-district dormitory.
