Late Cretaceous to early Eocene activity produced the Mt Torrey Batholith in Beaverhead County Montana. Intrusions caused metamorphism and mineral enrichment as erosion exposed the Batholith and related deposits through the Cenozoic and Pleistocene. Fossil beds indicate Madison age in the Bannack and Argenta districts with quartz monzonite outliers and Pennsylvanian age formations nearby.
