Football Discussed At Rotary Meet By MSN College Coach

Rites Today For Beaverhead County Stockman Charles Wilson
Charles Wilson longtime Beaverhead county resident and prominent stockman died at his South Washington home after a several months illness. Born October 10 1875 on a Blacktail ranch he spent his life in Beaverhead County and was widely known in the community.

J E Border state vocational supervisor and state adviser of the Future Farmers of America visited the Beaverhead county high school FFA chapter last Thursday. Dillon Athlete Stars In Grizzlies Victory Over Montana State
Edison Kent, a Dillon grid and hoop star, scored the first touchdown and gained steady yardage as the Grizzlies routed Montana State 32 to 0 in the annual football classic at Butte last Saturday. His play helps cast the Grizzlies as conference contenders with many sophomore stars to come. Over 60 Dillon fans attended the big game, while hunters lament the lack of snow hampering deer and elk prospects. An elk open season in Wise River drainage areas is set for four days next month on November 12 14 and 15, a first in Beaverhead county in years.

Dillon Angler Wins National Fame For Rainbow Trout Catch
Walter Schmittroth of Dillon captured a 15 pound Rainbow trout at Hidden Lake in Madison county last summer. Field and Stream awarded him a national championship. the current issue features his catch with a photo and article by George R. Beier. The fish is among the largest ever recorded in the area and is on display at the City Banking company.

Engineers Surveying New Route For Highway 91 Through Dillon
State engineers began surveying the proposed new route of highway 91 through Dillon. Financed by federal funds, the project includes paving Glendale street from Idaho to Atlantic and Atlantic street from Glendale to the oiled highway near the Normal, plus 450 feet of concrete paving on North Montana street.
