Over 400 Masons from Dillon No. 16 A F and A M and delegations from Butte Anaconda Wisdom Lima Twin Bridges Sheridan Virginia City Helena Deer Lodge Whitehall and others gathered Saturday for the fiftieth anniversary. Grand lodge officers attended as entertainment and speeches followed a banquet and the day included a lodge communication in the afternoon.

New Lima Dam Project Details and Financing
The New Lima dam project plans a $125,000 loan payable in 1958 to strengthen the structure and raise the height by 10 feet. The new dam would provide normal capacity of 93,000 acre feet and extreme capacity of 110,000 acre feet, with a lake length of 11 percent miles and shore line of 44 miles, irrigating 215,000 acres. At least 250 workers will be employed. Water Users Irrigation Company as builder and bids open in Dillon on Monday morning, October 23.

Legion Plans Armistice Day Celebration in Beaverhead
Beaverhead post of the American Legion outlined tentative Armistice Day plans at a city hall meeting last Thursday. The program calls for a morning parade followed by patriotic exercises at 11 o clock and an afternoon football game with ex service men’s annual banquet to close the day.

Miner Ray Willis Dies in Sunday Accident Near Red Rock
Ray Willis 36 a Medicine Lodge coal miner died Sunday evening while being ferried to Dillon by five companions from a ranch near Red Rock. A coroner jury led by Coroner James E. Philips found the cause of death unknown. Friends of Willis plan continued coverage on page 8.

Fires destroy mill and hay at Reichle in county
Incendiary fires damaged a saw mill on the Big Hole river at Dewey and 12 060 feet of lumber plus sheds warehouses and equipment were lost. A second blaze near Reichle destroyed 250 tons of hay on the Chris Reibher ranch with several stacks burned despite neighbor efforts.
